RPC-36 combines power distribution and power control with 16
individually controlled DC power outputs that are easily accessed via TCP/IP
(telnet) or the unit's RS232 service port.
The RPC-36 offers RS232 access only. For Ethernet (10BaseT) access see RPC-35.
With multiple user support, customers who co-locate servers or other equipment with other
companies can provide power control to specific devices connected to these units.
The RS232 port on both units can be connected to an external modem for dial-up access.
This is useful for occasions when telnet access is unavailable or the network is temporarily
down. Multiple RPC-36s can be controlled over one dial-up connection
via DS-Series Data Switches.
The RPC-36 supports command for output control status and configuration.
The unit acknowledges the commands and indicates command completion.
In the event of power failure to the unit itself, RPC-36 retains the most
current operational status for each receptacle in nonvolatile memory. When the
unit regains power, it restores these settings.
